Amen. The manuals are already large (blame me, I am the author of most
of it, and I tend to be wordy). Even if you read them in softcopy, it
is daunting to read thru all the text and options, and most customers
don't. We be selective about what we document to keep the size down,
since we have a lot of options, especially for Archive

Bruce, at the risk of mentioning something that might not be entirely
acceptable, why not distribute those manuals in BookManager format? The
search capabilities of BookManager are FAR superior to those of a PDF.
I'll say it for all to hear: I'm a FIRM BELIEVER in BookManager. The LIBRARY
READER leaves me cold, since I'm not a great fan of JAVA. Interpreters
in general leave a bad taste in my mouth, since I've seen so many dismal
failures in 4G Languages (I use the term "languages" very loosely; look at
what happened in the State of Washington years ago with "MARK IV")
What I perceive is that more and more business and scientific applications
are written in so called "new languages" that are interpretive, rather
than compiled, and this is, in large part, responsible for the ever-
increasing thirst for more and more MIPS.
