Would concur with John's observations. Theere seems to be a trend to "tamagotchi-ise" job titles in our profession.
In Europe, there are requirements for DB2 / z/OS / CICS / z/VM "administrators" for the few jobs that are still advertised. JC > True to a degree. There are now articles for non-zSeries systems. > > > NaSPA, IIRC, originally meant 'National System Programmers Association' > or something similar. It now stands for 'National System Professional > Association' so that it can include UNIX and Windows system > adminstrators. Most of whom are not really "programmers" like z/OS sysprogs > generally __used__ to be. z/OS sysprogs are now closer to sysadmins than > sysprogs also. That's the way that the industry, in general, is going (for > good or ill). > John Cassidy (Dipl.-Ingr.)
