When I first arrived the UTL used to extend prod jobs unconditionally. Found some of the jobs still waiting next morning. So I changed it to fail the job after 5 extensions (of 30 mins), and cut an SMF record. Problem reports started appearing. After that the ops "stayed awake"; problem fixed. Virtual tape is *great*.
