Uh, said that just backward - Quick! More Coffee! I meant that you cannot add another base key to the AIX record for an given alternate key if the base key will not fit into the RECSIZE defined for the AIX file. We have VSAM files where there are literally THOUSANDS of base keys for a given alternate key. Like using a person's ZIPCODE or STATE code for the alternate key.
