Yeah, I know, it's kind of a kluge, but I wonder how the system
behaves.

The tricky part is you can't issue the command in COMMNDxx because those commands are issued prior to SMF initialization. So you need some sort of MPF/automation or other method to synchronize the command with other things. That was a bit too much trouble for me to experiment with considering I really don't care about the Type 19 records in the first place. Still, I wonder if SMF might "hang" during the SET SMF command in that scenario. You could just be delaying the inevitable ...
