Subject: PDS QUESTION - JOG MY FAILING MEMORY

I remember that in the past that I could run a command to increase the directory blocks of a pds without having to reallocate the dataset. I would enter the command pds at the side of the dsn (when in option 3.4). Then I would enter command FIXPDS. When the prompt "SHOULD THIS DATA SET BE MODIFIED (Y/N) ? " I reply "Y". At the next prompt "ENTER OPTION -- DSN=HESPS02.ISPF.ISPPROF" I am not sure what I should respond. Can anybody tell me what I should reply?

Willie,

This is a feature of the PDS product, file 182 at www.cbttape.org. The whole sequence is FIXPDS EXPANDDIR(number of directory blocks to add). You are then shown a list of members that will move to accommodate the new directory blocks and are asked to confirm the operation. If you enter 'Y', the members will be moved, the new directory blocks added, and that's it. You can verify the new directory blocks by entering the USAGE ALL command.

Regards,
Tom Conley
