The Devil is in the details. What you are seeing is the infamous
kewpie[1] doll. My provider autoconverted it, so I don't see the
original header. What do you see in the MIME-Version, Content-Type and
Content-Transfer-Encoding header fields?

Possibly both, or neither. If the header fields are missing, it might
be the fault of LISTSERV. Does sexchange allow you to view the actual
message text, including the uninterpreted header?
