[1] "Grappa" is a liqueur made by fermenting what is left after what
becomes wine has been stamped out of the grapes. Quality varies but the
first I ever had was *very* rough.

I've never had grappa that wasn't pretty rough, but never anything as
rough as my first taste of calvados. Good, but like swallowing razor
blades and ground glass.
