How does one code some assembler statement to do a racroute to check if
a userid and password are valid? Where can one find such information, in
a book, on how to do this?

I have to agree with previous responders Walt and Charles. It can be a
very messy can of worms. Explain the overall usage and perhaps we can
suggest a safer and/or easier mechanism. Talking to RACF requires
meticulous attention to detail and the ramifications of an error could
be rather unpleasant. In extreme cases, "career limiting" unless you
have a very good relationship with your management team(s).
