It's been awhile since I've had to use DFHSORT (PGM=SORT) and am returning to a project where I'll need it.
There is an immediate situation I'd like to deal with but the saved SORTs I have do not seem to deal with it and my looking through doco has not yielded any help. I'd like to take an input file and; * Check a single 2 byte field (I can do this) * Select the record if it is one of 10 values (I can do this) * Write the record to one output dataset if possible (10 would work if it is the only way) (I can do this) * Stop the processing after each of the 10 values has AT LEAST 2 records output * (THIS, is the bugger I'm looking for) The STOPAFT statement only counts input records and doesn't deal with individual output counts. Sigh. Any insights would be appreciated. Note: I can write a simple REXX to do this but need to do it in SORT. Double sigh.
