Besides program directories and installation stuff, have you looked at both
the COBOL and the LE "Migration Guides"/

In general,
  I would recommend upgrading the operating system (with LE) first and get
it "stable" in all environments (LPARs, whatever).  After that is stable
(and all your old COBOL code *should* run as expected), then upgrade the
compiler in a separate step.

Assuming that you really are ENTIRELY at "IBM COBOL for OS/390 & VM 2.2.0"
for all your compiled COBOL object code, I wouldn't expect any problems.  If
you actually DO have older object code (especially OS/VS COBOL or possibly
even VS COBOL II object code) then more research may be needed before your
conversion effort.
