You could look at getting a Linux partition on your mainframe and using
Communication Controller for Linux. It is a "logical" replacement for
the 3745. The thing I am not sure about is Token Ring support, you may
have to switch to Ethernet.
Depending on with zSeries you have, you may not be able to get a Token
Ring OSA-Express for it.
