Admittedly a different platform, but I've seen 200MB/sec memory-to-memory
FTPs between two zLinux guests running under z/VM on the same single-engine
z9 IFL. A couple things that I have noted:
1) FTP GET is substantially faster than FTP PUT (nearly double)
2) MTU size can make a difference (both positive and negative). Gererally,
the larger the better (not limitted to Ethernet MTU size of 1500 here),
however (on the zLinux side anyway) if you're running with large MTU sizes
(say, 32K), you're running in relatively uncharted territory. It might be
worthwhile experimenting to find the optimal value.
