Question: I am getting an IOS291I Message Configuration Mismatch error
subcode 21.

I have been hunting through the manuals to see where the NED is set (node
element descriptor).

According to the manual and Apars I have found the 3 fields are:

In my good dev I have
SCP CU ND = 004000.177.IBM.00.000000050204.0001
SCP TOKEN NED = 004000.177.IBM.00.000000050204.0000
SCP DEVICE NED = 004000.177.IBM.00.000000050204.0000

In my bad DEV I have

SCP CU ND = 004000.177.IBM.00.000000050204.0001
SCP TOKEN NED = 004000.177.IBM.00.000000050204.0000
SCP DEVICE NED = 004000.177.IBM.00.000000070042.0000

You can see that the SCP CU ND and SCP TOKEN NED are the same but different
from the SCP DEVICE NED.

I would like to understand where the NED is set that the SCP reads. Is it
something with the IOCDS? If so, where in the HCD can I look. Or is it
strictly a device supplied number?

Would a vary offline, force, uncond type function clear out the NED and force
a new one in? Or is this a new IOCDS and activate? Or is this an IPL type
issue?

Any guidance is appreciated.
