If I remember correctly IBM has/had "Batch Workload Analysis Tools".
They used to be free. They took SMF info and compared your workload with
other processors.

Another thought: SNAPSHOT. George Crane is an absolute WHIZ at setting
up models and making variations to examine projected performance. AND
he's real easy to work with. Feel like a trip to Raleigh ?? Ask your IBM
marketting types.
