I love that old photo of you speaking at Share with a suit jacket over your T-shirt. I bet you never got credit for being a fashion trend-setter. (East side of DeKalb, commuting downtown).

Many of you know that I have decided to leave NIU and that this is my final semester (final month, now) teaching here. Reduced enrollments have taken their toll on computer science departments, and ours is hurting as much as any. One consequence of that drop is a lot of discussion about the future of the program with regard to its emphasis on enterprise & mainframe computing. That discussion is being picked up by one of our graduate students who is taking a course in Systems Programming with Robert Rannie this semester. She will be giving a talk on the subject one week from today, and I just found a poster for the event in the hall outside my office. I thought the list might enjoy seeing the poster (designed by an English major friend of hers!). Clearly, there are reasons I will regret leaving. http://www.kcats.org/pub/MiliFlyer.jpg Mike Michael Stack e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ear-mail: 1.815.753.9447 Computer Science Department fax: 1.815.753.0342 Northern Illinois University www: http://mstack.cs.niu.edu DeKalb, IL 60115 skype: callto://mstack ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
