SMP/E was introduced at the same time MVS/XA was available. To upgrade
to MVS/XA from MVS/370 without a full sysgen required SMP/E for the
CSECT delete function. SMP/4 didn't have that capability.
I don't remember when SMP/4 become unsupported however.
