OK, I've just got to ask: if you're going to migrate to disk, why not just leave the data where it was? If HSM or something does compression before creating the migrated copy, use DFSMS compression for the original data, perhaps?
I don't see the advantage in migrating data from disk to disk, in other words. If I'm overlooking something, please enlighten me.
