I always bought IBM ThinkPads until they sold out to Lenovo.

After that I went with a Dell Latitude D810. Despite
more than doubling its purchase price with upgrades,
it's *never* performed up to expectation. And, I've
*never* had any satisfaction from their Tech Support!
(This may be a Dell Canada issue.)
I will *never* buy another Dell!

Almost all laptops now have everything you'd probably
want: CD/DVD writer, bluetooth, wireless networking, etc.
It's just a case of deciding on screensize, RAM, HDD size,
processor speed, etc.

My next one will likely be an HP DV9000 series. They're
good for all "normal business work", plus, if you travel
much, they're great for watching movies in the hotel, etc.

Subject: Suggestions for New Laptop.
Date: Sun, 22 Jul 2007 08:59:01 -0400

Hello All.

I am in the market for a new notebook/laptop. I am looking at DeLL, Toshiba and recommendations from this group.
Any suggestions are gratefully appreciated.

One thing that has turned me off is having no choice between Vista & XP Pro.

TIA
Carol
