Listers - I must now put my two cents in. How much corporate sponsorship do you think Share gets? I would think most of their funding comes from the vendors. And the only reason the vendors provide sponsorship is so they can get at us. <SNIP> Blanket ads get what kind of response vs. good will? I ask this, because when I fill out the stuff for various free publications, they ask questions to pre-qualify those getting the subscription. Vendors are very interested in two answers (1) that I am a decision maker and (2) that I can recommend purchases. Then they further qualify that by looking at the area of responsibility and budget numbers. So SHARE not qualifying the list before blindly giving it to vendors causes BAD WILL. Many of us do not have budgetary control, or ability to influence decisions (if you think you do, could you please buy our products from our product line? ;-) ). And I think this is the point that people are trying to make. The other thing that SHARE could do (if they do not want to provide qualified lists of leads) is change their domain name slightly so that Ads could be filtered from the more important items. For example, vendor ads would come to you as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Just my .02 cents worth.
