I'm pretty sure that limit is 123 extents. It may have been changed in a
later release though.

I remember (I am old and has been awhile), but IIRC there is a limit to
the number of extents a linklist can go. Flaky things start happening
when this does. You may want to check libraries with multiple extents. I
would especially concentrate on ones that recently had members added. We
try to not allocate secondary extents for linklisted datasets, but you
know how that goes.
