Thanks Bruce, I also have SMCS consoles configured for us to use. My thing was and I think you answered it. Where do you IPL from and have NIP messages go to. I guess through the HMC (even though its ugly it does work).
Then I can have them use either a icc or smcs to logon after the IPL. The problem is we still reply to JES2 and some messages before our automation kicks in. We may have to rethink it.
