Regarding setting up networking parameters, I assume, by "networking",
you are referring to the Communications Server IP component. In my
heyday,
You're not saying you're "past your peak" are you? <g>
"networking" meant SNA and I have extensive notes already on the
Communications Server SNA component (VTAM) and related matters. I did
also teach TCP/IP for MVS a dozen years ago. However, to get an idea of
the extent, I have lecture notes for 15 mornings[1] of SNA teaching but
only 1 of IP.
All the above is now 12 years out of date - although that's not too much
of a limitation for the VTAM stuff.
I have a few reports, such as the one I sent you[2], from a very small
number of consultancies but the bulk is 6 years old now.
It's true that I have added just about exclusively to the IP knowledge
in dealing with matters raised here in the list or sometimes privately.
An example has been the revision of the resolver function which was a
surprise when I first heard of a separate address space.
Right. You've been expanding your knowledge, and building on
your past experiences along with your new knowledge; I feel
you have a lot of insights / tips / techniques to offer,
whether in a class or a book or some other medium. I'm sure
many people on this list would buy a book that contained all
of this.

[1] Afternoons were always hands-on.
[2] The name server did *not* get covered in my TCP/IP for MVS lecture
since gaining experience with it would have required installing DB2! I
did play with the old name server as a caching server (no DB2 was
needed) in order to get a little insight.
