There was a book titled "Games People Play." It can be very effective to ask an auditor (in a less than direct way) to play the game found in the book called "Let's you and him/her fight" to achieve your goals that involve uncooperative or not knowledgeable persons, particularly those not in your chain of command. One person I work with is very effective at this. Not everyone appreciates her talent.
