Hmm, I noticed that you've gotten responses on how expensive SAS is, but not a real answer to your question. I don't use SAS ITRM, but I would love to have it. I do know several shops that use it very successfully. They do run it on a Windows server because of the expense of SAS on the mainframe. Now, to your primary question. Yes, SAS ITRM is an extension to MXG. It basically uses MXG to hold the information from the mainframe. It will also pull in information from other sources for analyzing the distributed systems. It then front ends the database so one can do summarization and reporting of the data easily. When you license SAS ITRM you get several SAS language modules along with an MXG license.
