it took a while to diagnose THAT problem... Then one day, a breaker was tripped or something so they plugged the big buffing machine into the back of one of the dasd controller service outlets. Ummm, talk about parity errors.... We had a prof that was on sabbitical doing telemetry design for space station when they blew up Kansas computer center. He got put on the 'review and recommend' committee. One of their findings was architectural review. Evidently, one section of the raised floor caused parity errors when traversed in the wee small hours. About a 9' square section had no risers and was supported only by the BUS/TAG cables and power conduit. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
