It is REALLY easy to code. (if i can do it, ANYONE can) It RARELY if ever causes any problems. (I do keep pretty current on maintenance) Getting called in the middle of the night for out of space conditins is a virtually non-existant event (since I took it over - have to give myself a little pat on the back :) Allocate can not be over-ridden with JCL (only a special DD can be used to bypass VAM) It complements DFSMS with it's ability to add a candidate volume to DDFSMS managed files. CA TEch Support is quite good if it is ever needed at all.
