Actually our SMF dump job dumps to a daily tape which in the next step is mod on to a weekly tape using IEBGENER (actually ICEGENER in our case). This weekly tape is then concatenated to a monthly tape once a week. I keep multiple generations of the daily and weekly files so I can easily rebuild if needed. Does this sound ok?
