We just completed implementation of a 3-way TS7700 grid servicing 6
CEC's. A problem we see is that a newly created tape dataset created in
Grid-1 is being referenced by a second job, but out of Grid-2 before the
replication of the data has completed. The end result is really poor
application runtime as the data gets copied over.
Have any of you seen this? What did you do to fix? We do have our
Storage guys working with IBM on this, but other experience might get us
a solution quicker....

Thanks, Dave

Scheduling? Perhaps delay the start of the second job until the copy is complete?

Could you write the dataset to shared DASD in the first job and do the tape write in the second job?

Not knowing anything about the TS7700, those are about the only suggestions I can make.
