Can anyone enlighten me on this issue. System is z/OS 1.7. I cloned 4 sysres packs and applied maintenance. IPled and answered appropriately at IPL to keep old sysres packs offline. When weekend rolled around and HSM started doing automatic volume dumps, it complained that the volumes were offline and did I want them brought back online or reply cancel. I replied cancel and dumps continued (although I did have to answer cancel 3 more times for the other sysres packs). After the completion of the dumps I checked and the new sysres packs were not dumped. Although the volume ids were the same it would appear that HSM also knew about the DASD unit number change! The HSM add volume statements only require volume ids. How do I get HSM to start dumping the sysres packs from these new units?
