Something needs to delete the entry from cat A first. The OP stated there are entries for tape devices in both catalogs and he does not want the original A entries. He wasn't clear if there would be other A entries not in B that he wants to keep. If not, then he must first delete all tape entries in cat A before cloning the B entries into A. All MCNVCAT created was DEFINE statements.
