Hi everybody, I hope somebody can enlighten me on iSCSI and FICON.
I've searched but only come up with rather old information which may or may not still be true. What are the advantages / disadvantages of one over another? I assume (but could be wrong), that iSCSI would be the cheaper protocol to use and that FICON offers the higher performance, but by how much? For example would it be safe to say iSCSI cost xx% of FICON, but FICON offers yy% more performance? Are there some applications that FICON is suitable for, but iSCSI is incapable of doing? Maybe data duplication to remote sites? And lastly, does Z/os even support iSCSI? Thanks for your inputs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
