Since mainframe does not support iSCSI, there is no reason to compare
what is cheaper/better/etc.
Given that iSCSI isn't supported, maybe the answers to the other questions
might determin a reason to put a certain application on an Open System
rather than Z/os. (or vica visa)
Also, is there any difference in FICON support for mainframes V FICON
support for Open Systems?
Again, no difference, because Open Systems *do not support FICON. (I
understand it in this context as non-mainframe systems)
There are *similar* technologies: FICON and FC (Fibre Channel). They use
the same hardware but they "talk" in completely different languages. It
can be compared to TCP/IP and IPX over Ethernet network. While the cards
will "see" the one each other, they won't understand each other.
