Tom,

SYNCGENR runs fine.  You will get a message which states that the LRECL
will be changed but the job runs to RC=0 with both the DSCB reflecting
the correct length and the RDW of each individual record should be
correct also.  I tested when the output LRECL was both larger and
smaller.  In both cases the results were correct.

PS.  I had trouble with IBMLINK also.  I got a message that said my
id/password were invalid.  I had to try about 10 times to get it to
work.  I know it is Monday and I may be slower than normal but....

Since I work extensively with SMF data and do a lot of copying of VB
files I tried to go to IBMLINK to check this out.  From my perspective
it's down - again.  Is anyone else having the same problem?
