Mike:

The SRB time is accumulated by SRBs (Service Request Blocks) and the code running under them. SRBs are scheduled for several different system functions, usually for asynchronous activity associated with the job. A major SRB usage is the processing of I/O interrupts. When one occurs, an SRB is dispatched to process and POST the interrupt completion back to the potentially WAITing task (TCB). You might think of SRB time as system time on behalf of the job.

I am trying to get back up to speed on z/OS after being away from things for a while.

I understand about TCB cpu time, but what gets charged as SRB time? Normally it is low compared to TCB.

TIA
