Too bad. That seems like a poor design choice in hindsight given the current topic.

I guess you don't get much real HSM work in PWD - no offence intended.

We use DFSMShsm for migration, daily backup, and weekly full volume dump. However, we have very few VSAM files. And, those that we do have rarely get migrated.
