I like when IBM (and other vendors) give you better documentation or better ways to view it. I don't like having things taken away.

In the past, IYO came in several formats: BookManger, AFP and in readable
text in the orderhlq.SCPPLENU data set as member LIST1403.

Well,
I'm very glad that we've got PDF format. However IMHO it should have nothing to do with txt format existence.
So we gave you PDF - it's good
...but we've taken away TXT - why ???

BTW: If I really had to choose PDF or (exclusive-OR) txt, I would choose ...PDF. YMMV.

Then I'm probably in a serious minority: I prefer BookMangler, mainly because of the search engine.

Rick, you missed the point!
I also prefer BOO over PDF, but I prefer PDF over TXT. We just lost TXT and got PDF.
Obviously I would like to have all of the formats.
PDF for printing, BOO for browsing online, TXT to view it directly on ISPF.

I *hate* searching in PDFs! Unfortunately many ISVs (BMC, EMC, STK/Sun, BETASYSTEMS to name a few) supply only PDF, and - last but not least - the quality of the *content* is sometimes poor.
