You may need to upgrade your V7 DB2 in order to have migration/fallback
paths. ISV software may be an issue as well as DFSort and Unicode setup. The
post-SMP/E DB2 stuff was about 25 steps requiring some knowledge of DB2,
especially if something went awry.

We went through each of the three major phases (V7 toleration, V8 CM, V8
ENFM) twice - once for test and once for prod - each separated by two weeks
or more for shakeout.
