(Ok. You could be sending a LOGOFF cmd on the SSCP-LU session
to break an existing LU-LU session, but no message is involved.)
I'm pretty sure VTAM never issues a QUERY on the SSCP-LU session,
and it's even less likely that a Tn3270 server does that on its
emulated SSCP-LU session.
Fair enough. I was using terms to identify the host and 3270 device that
really don't apply prior to the BIND.
I simply meant to say that the 3270 will accept programmable color
orders without having told the host, via RPQ response or negotiated
BIND, that it is safe to send them.
I think that doesn't change anything you said, but I also think
that you're outside of any standards if you use extended data
streams for USS datam
True. And, in 1988 I would worry about that a lot more than in 2008. I
can't imagine there are *any* 3270s in my shop that won't accept
extended color orders.
