IBM has enhanced the XML Toolkit for z/OS so that certain workloads will now use the XML System Services for z/OS. This enhancement means that the XML Toolkit can now exploit zAAPs, offering improved performance and reduced costs.
Many middleware products and applications use the XML Toolkit for z/OS. Now non-validating XML parsing can run through the XML System Services and thus take advantage of zAAPs. You may need to make a minor code change to activate this support in your application. zAAP support for validating parsing is planned for a future release. For more information on this enhancement please consult APAR OA22700. This enhancement is available for the XML Toolkit for z/OS Version 1.9 (5655-J91). I believe the PTF for this APAR is compatible with z/OS 1.6 or higher, although at this point in time IBM support is available only for z/OS 1.7 or higher. zAAPs are available for z890, z990, and all System z9 and z10 models. - - - - - Timothy Sipples IBM Consulting Enterprise Software Architect Specializing in Software Architectures Related to System z Based in Tokyo, Serving IBM Japan and IBM Asia-Pacific E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
