Daniel,

As always, first open an issue with TLMS L1 support. Next, the CBRUXENT exit
will reject the insertion of a tape that is marked as "out of service" to
TLMS. You indicated that TLMS says the tape is offsite. Are you sure that it
is simply vaulted according to TLMS; or is it "out of service". If it is
out-of-service, then the source-distributed CBRUXENT exit will prevent the
tape from being entered into the library. So check the status of the volume
in TLMS and have that information available when you call TLMS support. If
you want to allow "out of service" tapes to be entered into the ATL (why
would you want a tape with permanent I/O errors to be inserted?); then you
can change the source-distributed CBRUXENT exit to do that. Another option
would be to change the CBRUXENT exit to issue a WTOR and ask the operator
when an out-of-service tape is attempted to be entered.

Subject: ATL Mysteries

User has a dataset on a 3590 tape that is not assigned to our ATL. The tape
according to TLMS is offsite, but the OPS crew says it's here and that isn't
an
issue. The user tries to mount it on an external drive but VNL is asking for
it in
the ATL. Operator loaded it and the ATL kicked out, as expected. SMS seems
to be getting involved. User also has an EXPDT paramet on the DD card,
although it's an input tape.

Suggestions are welcome. We're baffled and the user is getting perturbed.

TIA.
