Shared DASD has been around for a long time, but I will only share within SYSPLEX boundaries. Sharing outside a SYSPLEX (or a Single System SYSPLEX) requires, either: 1. RESERVE/RELEASE processing -- risky. 2. GRS Ring -- response degrades exponentially as you add systems. 3.
