Skip, I set up our userids and we can do everything from the web interface.
Including IPL from home. Logged on to the real HMC with ACSADMIN and set up our userids with SYSPROG authority. It sounds as if you have a setup problem. You can also choose the classic interface by userid if you prefer. You aren't stuck with the "new" one. Coincidentally we also have for the first time the ability to access the HMC remotely via our intranet. As long as we stick to 'Work Space' functions, remote access is fantastic. But 'Single Object Operation' to a CEC is a disappointment. Hardly any options are available. Most Task Lists show nothing but hardware and OS messages plus a few random options we've never needed. An example of what we want is 'Storage Information' to verify that storage is divvied up among LPARs as we expect. We get that function when logging on locally as Sysprog but not when logging on remotely with our individual userids. Do we need to define our userids to each CEC SE individually? Seems like a pain, but we can do if that's what it takes.
