The only time I have seen this is afer a "hard crash" of a system in a sysplex and IPL without the "system is down" reply on the surviving members of the sysplex.
Perhaps you IPL'ed SY1 before it had withdrawn (completely) from the sysplex? The "bad" cds's would then be seen by SY2. <snip> This is the first time that this has happened and I am confused.
