John, three recommendations from me: 1. Get at least two small volumes (say 100cyl big) reserved exclusively for the CDSs. 2. Do NOT catalog your CDSs! Use them non-catalogued and make sure everyone knows that they have to use the name *and* the volser when switching things. 3. Put automation in place that *at least* alerts you to the loss of a CDS/the switch to an alternate.
