A little late posting to this thread, but I got curious...

MAIL/NOMAIL is not a userid attribute but an option on the LOGON command
and has effect only at logon time. Only if NOMAIL is checked on the
standard TSO/E logon prompt panel, it gets remembered from session to
session. MAIL is otherwise the default for the LOGON command itself.

Neither PROFILE nor ACCOUNT nor LISTUSER command seems to show the current
value of the MAIL option. Where is the value kept? I suppose in BRODCAST
because that's the only common storage spot for users defined with or
without a RACF TSO segment. In order to change the option on the logon
panel, I think you would need to get each user logged on *once* in such a
way that the panel option can be set appropriately.

Hi List,

Is there a TSO/E command to check if the TSO/E MAIL (or NOMAIL) option is
set for my user ID? I think I came across some command that lists
MAIL/NOMAIL option as well (along with other TSO/E profile settings), but
can't find the command now. I have tried the LU and PROFILE command.

Secondly, is it possible to change this option after logging on to TSO/E
and then saving it for future sessions?

I need to change this setting on one of the systems, however, the logon
panel has been modified such that I do not get the option to
'select/unselect' the NOMAIL, NONOTICE etc. options. So, I am trying to
find an alternative.

Thanks for any help.
