I just recognized that I mixed things up. It's the files not the directory your having trouble with.
My suggestions remain the same except that "MKD" has to be replaced with "PUT" and "dirname" with "filename". Two options: - use "QUOTE SITE UMASK nnn" before the PUT - use "QUOTE SITE CHMOD nnn filename" after the PUT No shell is involved in ftp, so the shell's "profile" are not of interest. FTPD has a FTP.DATA configuration file that sets the default UMASK for FTP sessions.
