And I see another problem arising: a (conventional) dataset cannot have more than 64k tracks per volume. With this new storage pool you limit those datasets to 2*64K tracks, where it used to be 5*64k tracks (if your previous volumes were 3390-09's). And as also suggested: micromanagement is not for TB's of storage and 3390-27's and -54's.
