We recently implemented a BusTech solution, using NetApp open systems storage. Through the NetApp facilities we are replicating to another site as well, at an interval and copy retention chosen by us. We have not completed our cutover yet, but so far eveything is working well.
We don't have any LTO, but a Google search for LTO tape drives turns up several, including some for the mainframe environment.
