Never my intent! It was a rebuttal! You were the starter of the holier than thou with the statement that if it weren't for the US, we'd be Germans. But, thank you for putting words in my mouth. Canada was never protected from Germany by the US. It was protected by a small puddle called the Atlantic Ocean. Germany never had the drive, wherewithall, nor the resources to traverse that. Also, if the US was 'protecting' us, how come they had to wait to be attacked before joining the war? Canada was a participant in both WWI and WWII from the beginning. We believed we had a moral imperative. The US had to wait until it was 'personal': WWI: sinking of the Lusitania. WWII: attack on Pearl Harbour But, since this is the wrong forum for this discussion, don't expect another public response. In general, the US fights when US interests are compromised. Most other countries have more invested. In the early 1960's, we had a Prime Minister who won a Nobel Peace Prise. How many American presidents have one? Oh, and, how much money does the US owe the UN? So, don't preach to me! - Too busy driving to stop for gas! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
